About me
I am a husband, father, outsdoorsman and journalist. I believe in work life balance, and passion in both. On the work front, I fell in love with journalism in grad school when I worked as a news aide at The Washington Post. My colleagues were professionals whose sole mission was to find the truth and share it. I wanted to do that. I focused my journalism on defense, science and technology, because these areas will determine so much about our collective future. Can we make our planet more peaceful and keep the peace in space? How bad will climate change get and what can be done? How far will we take artificial intelligence, and for good or bad? Then there's feeding the human need to know: Are we alone? What is dark matter? Can classical physics and quantum mechanics be bridged? Most recently as editor-in-chief of Aerospace America, I led our team to address many of these questions. We did so with a depth and tone worthy of our audience of Nobel Laureates, CEOs, university scientists, engineers and STEM students. I'm determined as ever to do my part to inform society and inspire innovation. Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible fly fishing and roadtripping with my wife, two daughters and our hound, Dash.
